Barbera is often overshadowed by Nebbiolo, but when it comes to sheer drinking pleasure and elegance, this grape shines in its own right. The NAUNDA 2022 is a prime example – a Barbera that brings out the very best of the variety.

After 18 months in French barriques followed by further bottle ageing, the wine reveals a deep, dark colour with violet reflections. On the nose, it’s all about dark berries, fine vanilla, a hint of leather and delicate violet aromas. On the palate, it shows impressive structure and intensity, with a perfectly balanced interplay of juicy fruit, lively acidity, and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long, mineral-driven, and full of energy.

The oak influence is still noticeable but promises to meld beautifully with time in the bottle. A wine with excellent ageing potential – easily ten years or more. Ideal with salami, pasta with ragù, or a perfectly grilled steak. A true Italian pleasure moment!
