Description
The Grüner Veltliner from Birgit Eichinger’s Grub vineyard immediately impresses with the new vintage. Decanter awarded the 2023 vintage an outstanding 97 points. This is a real sensation, especially since it is only the second time this white wine has been bottled as a single-vineyard wine at the winery.
Ried Grub in the Kamptal valley lies between the renowned Heiligenstein and Gaisberg vineyards. Matured in large, used wooden barrels as well as in small wooden barrels, the wine promises great complexity and finesse. The nose is already highly layered, showing notes of floral honey, orange peel and yellow apples. On the palate, it is powerful, inviting and multi-layered, with a pronounced mineral interplay. The finish is exceptionally long, and the wine clearly has the potential to age gracefully for many years.
