Cantina Girlan Flora Pinot Bianco Riserva 2022, 0,75 L

This wine is a perfect example of why Pinot Bianco is so highly regarded in South Tyrol. On the nose, ripe aromas of pineapple and yellow fruit unfold, complemented by subtle hints reminiscent of Burgundy. The palate is dense yet juicy, fresh and elegant, underpinned by a clear, lively acidity. The balance of power and finesse gives this white wine great character and remarkable ageing potential.

The grapes are sourced from selected vineyards in Girlan and on the Eppan mountain. The moraine soils in Girlan contribute fullness and ripe fruit, while the higher, calcareous clay soils provide freshness and structure. After careful hand-harvesting, fermentation takes place in large French oak barrels, followed by 12 months’ maturation on fine lees. Further ageing in steel tanks and in bottles ensures depth, complexity, and elegance.

A superb culinary companion, it pairs beautifully with roast pike-perch, refined risottos, or poultry dishes. Equally impressive when enjoyed on its own from a large glass, where its complexity can truly be appreciated.
