In the glass, the wine is deep and dark in colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals ripe blackberries, blueberries and a delicate hint of sour cherry. The short period of ageing in wood adds gentle spicy notes of tobacco and a touch of chocolate, which enhance its appeal. On the palate, this southern Italian is juicy, soft and wonderfully rounded. The dark fruit remains present, supported by a pleasant fullness that never feels heavy. A fresh acidity provides balance and makes the wine highly approachable.
