Description

A textbook example of Blaufränkisch from the Leitha Mountains—and of course, organically grown, as is second nature for Erwin Tinhof. The grapes are sourced from some of the best vineyards around Eisenstadt. After spending over 18 months in used wooden barrels, this charming wine is just beginning to show its full potential. Time and patience have shaped it beautifully.

On the nose, it reveals dark berry fruit, a subtle touch of oak, and delicate herbal notes. Warm and ripe on the palate, it flows smoothly and elegantly, clearly reflecting its regional character. The finish is marked by a fine chalky minerality—distinctly Leithaberg. With each minute in the glass, the youthful edges soften, revealing the classic face of Blaufränkisch.

A superb example of the variety, with the potential to age gracefully for another 10 to 15 years—yet already a wonderful food companion. Pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, duck, hearty tomato-based pastas, or robust mountain cheese.
