Celler Carles Andreu Cava Blanc Barrica Bio, 0,75 l

The Cava Blanc Barrica 2021 from Celler Carles Andreu comes from organically farmed vineyards in the Serra de Prades. As a Guarda Superior Brut Nature Reserva, it matures on the lees for at least 18 months and derives its distinctive character from fermentation in French oak barrels.

The cuvée consists of 56% Parellada, 27% Xarel·lo and 17% Macabeu. The grapes are harvested by hand, gently pressed, and undergo primary fermentation in 225-litre French oak barrels. No malolactic fermentation takes place; with a dosage of 0 g/l, the cava is bottled as Brut Nature.

In the glass, it displays an intense golden colour with fine bubbles. On the nose, quince and vanilla combine with notes of pastry and a subtle hint of wood.

On the palate, it is dry, medium-bodied and elegantly sparkling. Aromas of baked apple and grapefruit lead into a lingering finish with hints of brioche and subtle toasty notes.

A characterful accompaniment to fried fish, poultry, creamy dishes and mature cheeses. Also a good choice as a sophisticated aperitif.
