Krispel B1 - Wein im Stein 2019, 0,75 L

A white wine matured in stone? In a basalt stone trough, echoing the soils of the Styrian volcanic region? Yes. Once again, Stefan Krispel is creating a sensation with his patented vinification method and producing a truly unique wine.

B1 is a blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc from the finest vineyards. It is spontaneously fermented on the skins in large wooden barrels, then matured for 24 months in basalt stone troughs, followed by a further 48 months in large wooden barrels. Now this exceptional wine is ready to be enjoyed.

Golden in colour with amber reflections. An appealing, smoky nose with notes of pear, ripe apple and exotic aromas. Dark minerality with hints of wet stone. On the palate, it is enormously powerful and multi-layered. Despite only medium alcohol, the body is opulent and dense. The finish is extraordinarily long and persistent. Unrestrained minerality gives the wine vibrancy and tension. A true experience for dedicated wine lovers and an absolute must to try. Ageing potential of 15 to 20 years.
