Description

Stefan Krispel is truly a master of the "Grauburgunder" grape variety, and his latest Riedenwein has rightfully earned an impressive score of 95 points, establishing it as the pinnacle of its kind.

The Neusetzberg vineyard in the Styrian volcanic region is defined by its shell limestone soil and a rich layer of red clay. After ageing for 12 months in small oak barrels followed by 6 months in large oak barrels, this creamy, dry white wine is already revealing its potential, with the capacity for further ageing over 10-15 years.

On both the nose and palate, it presents a harmonious and mineral-driven profile. Exotic fruits such as melon and orange zest dominate the forefront. Initially full-bodied and rounded, it gains power yet maintains excellent acidity support. Each sip enhances its elegance and delicacy, culminating in a remarkably long finish that leaves a lingering satisfaction and beckons for another taste.

This wine pairs exquisitely with robust dishes like boar, mushrooms, or hearty vegetarian fare. Alternatively, savour it on its own and embrace life's simple pleasures.
