"Enjoy without regrets" - that's the motto of this new Pitt Nat blanc from Pitti. A dry organic sparkling wine, unfiltered, not sulphurised and of course without additives!

Pét-nats are all the rage, but what exactly are they?

A pétillant naturel, or Pét-nat for short, is the original form of sparkling wine production. With this method, the still fermenting grape must is bottled, closed with a crown cap and then fermented in the bottle. This requires a lot of sensitivity and the right timing from the winemaker. The difference: With sparkling wine and champagne, and added yeast, fermentation is carried out a second time in bottle (or in a tank) and then the sugar gradation is determined by means of dosage. None of this happens with a pétillant naturel.

Gerhard Pittnauer called his Pét-nat Pitt Nat. It immediately cast a spell over us. A refreshing organic sparkling wine made from various white grape varietals. There's a creamy tingling, light, subtle fruit sweetness and a delicate touch of yeast. An ideal summer aperitif that needs no additives. 100% handcrafted and therefore only available in small quantities. Once you've tasted it, you'll be converted - we promise!

Be careful when opening Pét-nat's: They can foam a little. Though we'd say this heralds the start of a party. Slight cloudiness, streaks or deposits of yeast can occur in the bottle, but this does not detract from the taste and proves the wine wasn't filtered.
