Gernot Heinrich Pannobile Red 2022 Organic, 0,75 l

This perfectly balanced, still young organic red wine cuvée, Pannobile, is made up of 50 per cent Zweigelt and 50 per cent Blaufränkisch. A sophisticated classic from a top-class winery, with aromas of ripe blackberries and delicate nougat. On the palate, it is completely dry and juicy, followed by a long finish with a silky, soft tannin structure. It comes across as light-footed, fresh and invigorating. Subtle hints of cardamom. The oak is subtly perceptible from the 500-litre casks used. Here, the fruit and the terroir take centre stage. The Pannobile red is lovely to drink now, but should be decanted or allowed to breathe a little in the glass. However, if stored ideally, it will bring a smile to your face for the next 10 years. Pairs well with red meat, game and is perfect for a lovely evening amongst friends.

The name Pannobile reflects both the origin (Pannonia) and the special value of these wines (noble, nobile). Nine winegrowers from Gols joined forces over 30 years ago to create a Burgenland ‘brand’ that signals quality visible from afar. Another characteristic shared by all ‘Pannobiles’ is that they are matured in used wooden barrels, and that only ‘autochthonous’ (= indigenous) grape varieties are used.
