Description
One of the best vineyards in Central Burgenland is the"Dürrau" vineyard. Made for Blaufränkisch. This unique grape variety thrives particularly well here on the heavy, warm clay soils with a high iron content. The Kerschbaum winery knows better than almost any other winery how to give this single vineyard such a platform and how to express the terroir in the wine.
This powerful, almost cult red wine is matured for 15 months in predominantly new barriques. A young representative with a long ageing potential and a great future.
Dark ruby colour in the glass. Extra dry on the nose and palate. Distinctive with a mineral touch. Juicy first impression with a noticeable use of wood and ripe tannins. A mouthful of wine with blackberries, some herbs and a slightly salty finish on the long, warm aftertaste. Lingers for a long time, testifying to high quality.
Best aerated or decanted 1-2 hours before enjoying. A lovely accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, BBQ, or simply to enjoy on its own at the weekend.
