Lirac is often overshadowed by its well-known neighbour, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. However, anyone who tastes this wine may question why. It is a wonderfully authentic Rhône red with plenty of charm and notably good value for money.

This vintage is generous and driven by fruit. Ripe red and dark berries dominate the bouquet, complemented by delicate Mediterranean herbs and a subtle touch of spice. On the palate, the wine is pleasantly full-bodied without becoming heavy. Silky tannins provide a harmonious structure and make each sip highly approachable.

The vineyards of Château Saint Roch lie on the slopes to the west of the Roquemaure fault. Sheltered by the hills of Saint-Géniès and influenced by the nearby River Rhône, the grapes retain both ripeness and freshness. After vinification, the wine is aged for twelve months in tanks and wooden barrels.

This Lirac pairs particularly well with stuffed tomatoes with lamb, braised poultry, or hearty Mediterranean dishes. It is already a pleasure to drink now and will continue to develop beautifully in the bottle over the next five to six years.
