You do not normally need to say much about Cloudy Bay. This Sauvignon Blanc is quite simply the best-known in the world.

2025 was also a very good wine year in Marlborough, which is clearly reflected in the current Cloudy Bay. A blend of 91 different parcels, all vinified individually, with 4% aged in used oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel tanks.

The current vintage is slightly warmer than usual and could be described as more powerful. Clear notes of redcurrant and gooseberry, along with typical lychee and a hint of yellow pepper. Very expressive on the nose, fully ripe and very concentrated. Radiant, elegant and bone dry on the palate, with vibrant acidity and excellent drive. An uncompromising Sauvignon Blanc that, for many, still represents the benchmark of the category.

In any case, a great accompaniment to Asian cuisine with plenty of vegetables, for example. It also pairs perfectly with asparagus season.

A wine that can easily be cellared for 10 years, some say even 20, although hardly anyone does so with this Sauvignon Blanc.
