Elisabetta Abrami ETNA Rosso D.O.P. 2018, 0,75 L

The winery, Sciare dell'Alba, is located in Sicily, but as it is owned by Elisabetta Abrami, we also offer it under her name.

This wine is crafted from a blend of 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio grapes, which are hand-harvested from vines growing at 500 meters above sea level on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna. The volcanic soil of this unique terroir imparts a distinct minerality to the wine.

After the October harvest, the grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, with a maceration period of 12 to 15 days. The wine then undergoes 24 months of maturation in 30-hectolitre French oak barrels, resting on the fine lees, followed by an additional 12 months in the bottle to refine its character.

In the glass, the Etna Rosso presents a clear ruby-red hue. The nose is inviting, with aromas of wild berries, complemented by subtle spice and a touch of herbal nuances. On the palate, the wine is balanced and fresh, offering a pleasant softness and fine tannins that lead to a long, satisfying finish.

This wine pairs beautifully with savoury meat dishes and spicy fare. Its freshness and mineral qualities are a true reflection of the Etna terroir, making it a genuine expression of the Sicilian winemaking tradition.
