Description

The Chardonnay Straden is a medium-bodied representative of the Ortswein (local wine) category. The vines for this wine grow exclusively around the village of Straden in the southeastern Styrian volcanic region – a landscape as harmonious and balanced as the wine itself.

Thanks to the selective hand-picking of fully ripe grapes and ageing in large wooden barrels, this Chardonnay delivers plenty of character on the palate. It’s dry, with beautifully integrated fruit notes and aromas of citrus and fresh meadow herbs. On the palate, it is lively and present, with an animating acidity. Exotic fruits like mango and melon meet subtle hints of vanilla, finishing with a slightly salty, long-lasting note.

A true all-rounder from the upper class – and all that for comparatively little money. A great match with poultry, pasta with hearty sauces, or grilled white meats.
