Description
That Styria is renowned for outstanding Sauvignon Blanc is no longer a secret. This example from the Erste Lage Neusetzberg also impresses with its excellent value for money, surpassing many well-known single vineyard wines.
Matured in large wooden barrels, it shows a remarkable structure while retaining freshness and drinkability. The nose is expressive, with intense aromas of nettle and exotic fruits, particularly passion fruit. On the palate, it is dense and aromatic, dry, with a fine acidity that encourages further drinking. The finish is savoury, with a delicate extractive sweetness and a long, slightly citrus persistence. A wine that truly makes the mouth water.
It has excellent ageing potential of 10 to 15 years, with a drinking window that has already begun. Perfect with spaghetti and rich sauces such as carbonara, it also pairs very well with freshwater fish.
