Leo Hillinger Constantia HILL red 2019 2 +1 Free, 3x 0.75l

When a winemaker from Burgenland in eastern Austria and a winery owner from Vorarlberg in western Austria join forces in South Africa, it naturally attracts our attention. And we were immediately impressed by these wines by Leo Hillinger and Alexander Waibel, made under the auspices of the Constantia Glen winery!

This Constantia Hill red was matured in French barrique barrels for 12 months and consists of 42% Petit Verdot, 27% Merlot, 17% Malbec and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon.

In the glass, this red wine cuvée captivates with a strong dark red colour with slightly violet reflections. On the nose, we find ripe aromas ranging from dark berries to rum and light smoky notes. Full-bodied and animating. On the palate, wonderfully ripe fruit is carried by compact tannins with a touch of chocolate. A wine with lots of potential, which will provide drinking pleasure for many years to come.

Pairs perfectly with steak, dark meat or even pizza & burgers.
