Description

Fiore del Vento is one of those vineyards where you immediately feel that something special is being created. Located at high altitude, cool in character and cultivated with great sensitivity, it produces Brunello with tension, depth and a clear identity. At Corte Pavone, this site is always vinified separately, biodynamically and with great respect for nature, soil and vines.

In the glass, the wine shows a dark ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The nose is precise and deep, revealing dark cherries, sour cherries and wild berries, accompanied by fine herbal spices and a hint of tobacco. Everything is very clear and focused, without any loud notes. On the palate, it is dense and powerful, yet juicy and surprisingly elegant. The acidity is lively and vibrant, while the tannins are robust, ripe and beautifully integrated. The long, powerful finish underlines the ambition and character of this wine.

The 2019 vintage offered ideal conditions. A mild winter, a rather cool spring and a consistently warm summer without drought stress allowed slow and complete ripening. The heat in August was balanced by good water reserves, and a small amount of rain in September added freshness. The grapes were harvested at the end of September under ideal conditions, providing excellent fruit for a long ageing single vineyard Brunello.

A wine with great ageing potential that deserves time and rewards patience. For those who value depth, structure and elegance, and for anyone who wants to discover the serious and noble side of Brunello from Montalcino.
