Azienda Agricola Perusini Pinot Grigio Ramato Bio 2023 D.O.C Friuli Colli Orientali

This particular variety of Pinot Grigio is especially common in Friuli. Ramato refers to the extended contact of the reddish Pinot Grigio grapes with the skins during fermentation, resulting in a delicate rosé or even copper hue.

This process also imparts more tannins, altering both the flavour and texture of the wine. It's an intriguing style, especially now, as orange wines gain popularity. The traditional Ramato version of Pinot Grigio stands out even more, and in our opinion, Perusini consistently produces one of the finest examples of this variety in Friuli. The wine is complex yet wonderfully fresh.

On the nose, it presents a spicy, pleasantly perfumed bouquet with typical notes of ripe pears and apples. There’s a delicate minerality, accompanied by subtle citrus hints. The first sip reveals its characteristic tannic grip, alongside bright fruit and a hint of nuttiness. Whether it’s the acidity or the tannins, the wine boasts great structure that extends into a long, satisfying finish.

This exciting wine is a perfect match for Mediterranean dishes and pairs beautifully with white meats.
