Salzl Josanna Grande Cuvee 2021

The new red wine cuvée Josanna from our esteemed winery has earned an impressive 93+ AlaCarte points and succeeds our previous Grande Cuvée. It embodies the distinctive terroir of the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, crafted from Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Blaufränkisch. After ageing for 12 months in small oak barrels, it now reveals its fullness and elegance.

On the nose, it offers intense aromas of black cherry, cassis, blueberries, chocolate, and cocoa, complemented by delicate roasted notes. The palate showcases concentrated berry fruit, with a balanced texture that is full-bodied, round, and juicy. Flavours of plum, herbal spice, supple tannins, espresso, and vanilla unfold gracefully, alongside juicy ripe wild cherry and blackcurrant. The finish is layered with mineral nuances, hints of nougat, and subtle wood spice, showcasing delicate sweetness from the extract and a supple tannin structure.
