SACRIS has existed since Christoph joined his parents’ winery in 2005. The name is derived from SAlzl ChRIStoph and represents a single-varietal Zweigelt at the very top of the estate’s premium wines. It is an impressive example of the outstanding wines this red grape variety can produce.

Matured for 24 months in new small oak barrels, this is a remarkably dense and velvety red wine. Intense aromas of cherries, dried plums, cinnamon and toasted oak unfold beautifully. Dry on the palate and full of character, its juicy fruit immediately invites another sip. Deep and full-bodied, it flows into an exceptionally long finish, leaving notes of chocolate, black cherries and a hint of vanilla. A fine salinity reflects its minerality and exceptional quality. Excellent ageing potential until 2035.
