Weingut Hees
Germany / Nahe / Auen
If you are looking for wines that are honest, full of character and never loud, you have come to the right place. The Hees winery is located in the small village of Auen on the Nahe and is a classic family estate with a long history. Wine has been made here for almost 200 years, and today it is done with a strong sense of origin, craftsmanship and style.
The vineyards around Auen are among the most exciting on the Nahe. Steep slopes, poor soils and a rather cool climate force the vines to root deeply. This depth is clearly reflected in the wines. Most of the work in the vineyard is done by hand, with great patience and without unnecessary extras. The grapes are harvested only when they have fully ripened.
The same calm approach continues in the cellar. The wines are given time, handled gently and fermented spontaneously. The result is wines with a clear profile that are juicy, precise and wonderfully fresh. Riesling, in particular, embodies what makes the Nahe so special, with its mineral character, liveliness and natural drinkability. The Burgundy varieties also stand out with their charm and depth.
What we particularly appreciate is that the wines never feel forced or overworked. They are grounded and authentic, and that is exactly what makes them so appealing. Whether as an easy companion to a meal or a wine to enjoy on its own, these are bottles that are simply a pleasure to drink and invite you to take another sip.
