Sometimes it doesn’t take much to feel excited. One sip, a brief moment, and you immediately know where the journey is heading. That was exactly our reaction to this estate wine from Weingut Hees. Clear, precise and wonderfully animating, this Riesling makes you want more from the very first sip.

On the nose, it shows fine, clean fruit. Nothing loud, but beautifully focused. On the palate, it delivers exactly what you would expect from a classic Nahe Riesling: crisp freshness, a firm structure and a cool, stony minerality that gives the wine real character. Everything is straightforward, yet never thin or sharp. The finish is particularly pleasing, as the wine remains present and clean and immediately invites the next sip.

Created as an estate wine, it impressively shows how much quality and sense of origin are possible at this level. A Riesling that doesn’t aim to be complicated, but is simply very well made.
