Germany is one of the northernmost wine-growing countries in the world, with nearly 100,000 hectares of vineyards spread across 13 distinct regions, primarily in the country’s southwestern part. The most popular grape varieties include Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, and Pinot Noir, with white grapes dominating, accounting for around 70% of the production. The largest wine regions are the Palatinate and Rheinhessen, though wines from the Mosel region are also highly sought after.
