Allegrini Grola Valpolicella DOC Superiore 2022, 0,75 L

Allegrini has redefined Grola—dropping the “La” but adding extra muscle. The new edition of this wine marks a remarkable leap in quality.

A carefully balanced blend of Corvina Veronese (70%), Corvinone, and Rondinella, the 2022 vintage immediately shows that it is more than just a regional classic. Fermentation takes place gently in stainless steel, followed by 16 months of ageing—half in barriques, half in large wooden casks—and a further 10 months of bottle maturation. The result is a wine of structure, elegance, and depth, true to Allegrini’s celebrated tradition.

In the glass, it shines an intense ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is multi-layered and expressive, with ripe blackberries, cherries, and violets, intertwined with notes of vanilla, tobacco, and dark chocolate.

On the palate, Grola is powerful yet refined: velvety, ripe tannins harmonise with invigorating acidity and juicy fruit, leading to a long, savoury, and delicately mineral finish. A modern Valpolicella with real identity and precision.
