Description
Pinot Noir Curlan is a relatively new release from Cantina Girlan, and it impresses from the very first moment. Girlan is widely regarded as one of South Tyrol’s top cooperatives, renowned for its expertise in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
It is no surprise that this flagship wine has received high praise from critics from the outset.
In the glass, it displays a beautiful ruby red hue with garnet reflections. The nose is intense and expressive, with aromas of red berries, cherries, and strawberries, complemented by subtle spiciness and earthy undertones. Delicate hints of vanilla and toast from carefully seasoned oak add further depth.
On the palate, it is exceptionally elegant and balanced, with soft yet present tannins and well-integrated acidity. The wine is full and mouth-filling, with fine spice notes and a subtle touch of oak that harmonises beautifully. The finish is long and persistent, layered with red berries and gentle spice—a truly top-tier Pinot Noir.
Ideal with red meat, game, or mature cheeses, it is equally enjoyable on its own from a large glass, savoured in front of the fire.
