This di Manduria shows that Primitivo can be done completely differently to the sweet and sticky specimens. This wine is one of the best Top Primitivo in Italy every year, this time even playing in the absolute top league at Luca Maroni. In our opinion, 2021 was particularly juicy and is fun from the first sip.
This is a monumental wine, with strength and flavour from the first sip. It is anything but quiet. Great roasted aromas of coffee, cocoa and a good touch of vanilla accompany these juicy dark berry notes that are so typical of Primitivo. The grapes for this wine have dried out almost like an Amarone, plus they've spent a long time in barriques. This gives it an incomparable aroma of liquorice, vanilla, a serving of espresso and a fantastic fruity sweetness!
In addition, there is a lively acidity that counteracts the fruit and gives this wine an unexpected drinkability.
Anyone who likes and knows Primitvo di Manduria will love this wine!
