Tenuta Valdifalco Morellino di Scansano DOCG Poggio Marcone 2019 Organic

This wine captivates with the first sip. Morellino di Scansano is one of 4 important Sangiovese areas in Tuscany. The wines are perhaps not quite as rich in tannins as those from Montalcino, but are a bit more mature and therefore accessible a little earlier.

The Poggio Marconi vineyard produces a fantastic wine that doesn't have to hide behind big names. It has great ripe fruit on the nose, lots of dark berry aromas, plus well-integrated wood with a little vanilla and a hint of coffee.

It's a very powerful wine, which is quite elegant on the palate. Great fruit, almost a bit plump on the palate. The acid gives exactly the right counterpressure and prompts you to take the next sip. A red berry finish with a hint of vanilla, really nice!

Definitely pairs well with typical dishes from the Maremma, as well as wild boar and game in general. Also excellent with a mature Pecorino Toscano DOP or other aged hard cheese.
