Muralia Chiaraluna Viognier 2025 DOC Maremma Toscana, 0,75 L

Viognier is a grape variety one wouldn’t necessarily expect to find in Tuscany – and that is precisely what makes Muralia’s Chiaraluna so exciting. The grapes come from the Morioni Alto vineyard, situated on deep, calcareous soils on a hillside, where they develop their very own Mediterranean character.

After being hand-harvested in September, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in barriques. A further four months in oak give the wine additional depth, before it matures once more in the bottle.

On the nose, it is invitingly intense: citrus, tropical fruit, peach, a hint of sage and cream, and a pinch of white pepper. On the palate, it shows real power, with good body, pronounced flavour and a lovely mineral, salty note. Very aromatic and with great length.

No wonder this wine regularly sells out quickly at Muralia! Enjoy it with Mediterranean cuisine, grilled fish or simply on its own on a balmy summer’s evening.
