Polz Sauvignon Blanc Ried Theresienhöhe 1. STK Lage 2020

This premium white wine is named Therese, after the Theresienhöhe vineyard in southern Styria. The slate-rich primary rock soils and unique microclimate provide the perfect conditions for a taut, mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc, showing why this region is celebrated worldwide.

Matured dry in stainless steel tanks, the wine retains remarkable freshness. The nose is lifted with aromas of peach and a bouquet of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the influence of the slate soils is evident—taut, extremely complex, and precise. Flavours of blackcurrant with juicy fruit sweetness glide along a silky, fruity texture, finishing with excellent length. It delivers both vibrancy and pleasure in every sip.

The 95 points from AlaCarte and 94 from Falstaff are well deserved. Therese shines not only on its own but also pairs beautifully with seafood, veal, or dishes with Asian influences.
