Description
Ribolla Gialla is an ancient white autochthonous grape variety that has been cultivated in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy since the 13th century and had nearly fallen into obscurity. It has been experiencing a steady revival in popularity for around 20 years.
The Puiatti winery is a key producer of this variety and demonstrates a clear understanding of how to highlight the wine’s strengths. Only perfectly ripe grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks and then matured on fine lees for several months.
The wine is a true expression of the variety. It is fresh and well balanced, with notes of green apple, gooseberry and a subtle hint of sage. On the palate, it is fresh, mineral, dry and light, with each sip evoking a sense of holiday. The finish is harmonious and medium in length, offering excellent drinkability.
Pairs beautifully with fish and pasta dishes.
