The renowned Weingut Glatzer once again proves what Zweigelt is truly capable of with this powerful Erste Lage red from the esteemed Haidacker vineyard.
After 18 months of ageing in barriques, including a portion of new oak, the 2017 vintage was allowed to rest and mature under optimal cellar conditions, resulting in a limited-edition rarity. Now perfectly aged and ready to drink, it presents a refined structure and remarkable depth.
On the nose and palate, you'll find dark cherry fruit entwined with elegant cedar and fine wood notes, supported by hints of violet and blackberry. The wine is intense, juicy, and energetic, yet remains finely balanced. It grips the palate with confidence and finishes with a touch of salty minerality—a signature of its terroir. Still impressively youthful, this is Zweigelt at its purest and most expressive.
