Wieninger Organic Chardonnay Select 2020

Fritz Wieninger counts among Austria's best winegrowers for good reason. The grapes are grown on the Bisamberg vineyard in Vienna on 25-40-year-old vines and are meticulously hand harvested. After 15 months of ageing in partly new barrique barrels and some ageing in the bottle, the wine is beginning to reveal its qualities and potential.

Light roasted flavours paired with apricot aromas on the nose, complex and dense on the palate. Delicate caramel meets exotic fruit. The fine acidity ensures the necessary drinking flow. Already very enjoyable and accessible, this wine has excellent storage potential.

It is a wonderful, multi-faceted accompaniment to food. Especially with mushroom dishes, meat in strong cream sauces, with game meat as a substitute for red wine or simply as a reward at the end of a long, hard day.
