Whenever people talk about Austria’s finest white wines, one name is certain to come up: Singerriedel. For decades, this renowned vineyard in Spitz an der Donau has produced Rieslings that rank among the very best in the world. The current 2024 vintage has been awarded 100 Falstaff points and 100 James Suckling points. It does not get any better than that.

Even at first glance, it is clear that this is no ordinary Riesling. On the nose, it reveals ripe apricot, juicy vineyard peach, delicate citrus notes and a hint of exotic fruit. Beneath this, a striking minerality emerges, lending the wine tension and elegance.

On the palate, this ‘Smaragd’ is both powerful and refined. The fruit is concentrated, yet remains crystal clear and precise. Perfectly integrated acidity brings freshness and drive, while the mineral notes linger through the impressively long finish. With a little aeration, the Riesling gains further depth and gradually reveals new layers.

The steep terraces of the Singerriedel vineyard are among the most renowned in Europe. The combination of primary rock soils, the Danube climate and significant temperature differences between day and night creates ideal conditions for Rieslings of exceptional quality.

It has remarkable ageing potential and will continue to develop over many years. A truly great Wachau Riesling, elegant, complex and wonderfully enjoyable to drink.
