Description
Grüner Sylvaner is Austria’s oldest grape variety and is unfortunately difficult to find. In Germany, this white wine variety is also known as the Österreich Rebe. However, only around 50 hectares of this autochthonous example are still cultivated.
This characterful wine from 25-year-old vines is distinctive and performs well in blind tastings. Smoky and refined, it shows delicate pear and quince notes, while remaining lively and offering good drinkability with its juicy acidity. A wine like this is well worth trying.
Ideal with asparagus and also pairs well with many other vegetarian dishes.
