Weingut Sommer Grüner Veltliner Schiefer Leithaberg DAC 2023

It's no longer a secret that Grüner Veltliner and Burgenland's Leithaberg go well together. This traditional white wine variety thrives on the slate soils there and Leo Sommer shows off his wine-making skills perfectly here. The tasting took us completely by surprise - you can't easily find so much wine for so little money!

Classically matured in a steel tank and partly in a large old wooden barrel - this gives it radiance, but also a delicate creaminess. Dry, captivating and very complex in the glass. Initially ripe yellow fruits, then delicately spicy pepper and herbs followed by a slight saltiness in the finish. It is stronger than it tastes - that's thanks to the fully ripe, balanced 2023 vintage.

A great accompaniment with food - from hearty home cooking to light meat dishes, pasta and more. You can't go wrong with this wine!
