Viña Otano Rioja

Viña Otano is the Montaña family's winery. It was founded in 1886 by Don Roman Montaña, whose great-grandchildren still run it today. The winery is located in La Rioja in Fuenmayor, a sub-zone of the Rioja Alta, where wines with enormous storage potential are known to be produced. The vines are cared for and tended as gently as possible. They do not use any chemicals and fertilise organically and only if necessary. The age of the vines is considerable, between 30 and 95 years. In 1989, the winery was rebuilt using the most modern means to get the best out of the grapes.
