Description
This Blaufränkisch wine made with grapes from 40-year-old vines in the Hochberg vineyard in Neckenmarkt is aged for 18 months in barriques. This makes a wine that is dark in colour and bursting with power and finesse - a massive wine that serves to emphasise the beauty of this varietal.
Fine wood spice, figs and blackberries on the nose. Dry on the palate, powerful with beautiful complexity. Immediately triggers a smile and calls for another sip. Full-bodied tannins, wonderful sweetness, nougat and blackberries with a finish supported by a delicate, long chocolate kiss.
Can easily be stored for another 10 years.
Pairs well with strong meat dishes including game. Also fantastic on its own.
