The 40-year-old vines from the Hochberg vineyard in Neckenmarkt, combined with ageing in barrique barrels, result in a dark Blaufränkisch that exudes both power and finesse. This bold wine showcases the full potential of this remarkable grape variety.
On the nose, it reveals fine woody spices, figs, and blackberries. The palate is dry, robust, and complex, instantly bringing a smile and inviting another sip. The tannins are smooth and wonderfully integrated, with flavours of nougat and blackberries, balanced by gentle acidity and a delicate, lingering chocolate finish. Truly exquisite.
This wine can be easily stored for another 10 years and pairs beautifully with hearty meat dishes and game. It's also exceptional on its own, perfect for impressing guests or delighting the in-laws.
