Nero d'Avola is a red grape entwined in the rise of Sicilian wines. Almost 20,000 hectares of it can be found in the up-and-coming wine-growing region. The wines have low acidity and a velvety texture, with predominant aromas of blueberries, plums and, when ripe, raisins and dates.
