Johann Donabaum Riesling Smaragd Offenberg 2022

This wine comes from the famous Offenberg vineyard in the heart of the Spitzer Graben in the Austrian Wachau. True to its name, it charms you with its open, inviting character - after all, "Offen" is the German word for open.

The fruit jumps out on the nose, but the wine needs a lot of air to develop properly. Then it rewards you with a fantastic, typical stone fruit aroma and a lot of fruit. Mineral hints complete the picture.

On the palate, it's a very juicy, pure Riesling, somewhat salty and with minerals present. Straightforward and fresh, with a hint of lime on the finish. A wonderful Riesling that's already very juicy, but which will be very interesting to watch as it ages. Leave a few bottles in the cellar and drink them in a few years.
