Moritz PERPEDES Blaufränkisch 2022 Bio

The Perpedes is a 100% Blaufränkisch from the Gfanger vineyard in Horitschon showcases the distinct characteristics of this variety and the loamy soil of central Burgenland.

What sets this wine apart is that 1/3 of it is matured in a variety of used wooden barrels—oak, acacia, and chestnut. This unique blend imparts complexity and a special flavour to the wine.

On the palate, it is dry with a delicate fruity sweetness, supported by pleasant acidity. It is very juicy and easy to drink, featuring notes of dark berries, nougat, delicate pepper, and fine spices. The woody notes are subtle, enhancing rather than dominating the flavour profile. It has a good length and is very enjoyable to drink.
